The Emmpopshots crew was on the road last weekend to attend the 30th Annual Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. We felt right at home when we saw fellow Angelinos in attendance. Roy Karch, Marie Luv, Alexis Amore, Kelly Devine, Vannah Sterling, Shay Lynn and No Name Jane, along with L.A. media regulars, Gordon, Ralph, Ray Ray, Peter and Lee from Vegas.
San Francisco is one of the most liberal cities in the U.S. and it was noticeable right from the beginning. Conventions in L.A. and Vegas are very uptight about public nudity. The adult conventions prohibit nudity even under the tightest of conditions. At the Ball & Expo nudity was free flowing. Adult film star Evelyn Lin said the adult conventions are not appealing just for that very reason. Why should an adult start attend an adult convention if they are restricted from showing any skin?
The Ball was an experience that any voyeur should not miss. Even civilians getting on the shuttle bus, to the Ball, were skantly dressed not leaving much to the imagination. Attendance was down this year because of the slumping economy and the price of admission, so in prior years it must have been a grid lock, because it was hard to get around the darn place. The Ball as a whole is just too large for a photojournalist to do thorough job. The show ended abruptly while the last band was playing. Even at 2 o’clock in the morning, people were still in the partying mood, so they went into the city for the after party. I dragged my tired body back to the hotel for some much needed rest.
